Emergency and immediate risk
DogTrainingScout does not provide emergency assistance. If a person or animal is in immediate danger, create distance and use safe physical separation where possible, then contact the appropriate emergency, veterinary or local professional service.
Seek prompt individual help for a bite history, escalating aggression, severe guarding, intense fear, repeated escape, risk to children or vulnerable people, inability to separate safely, self-injury or severe distress when left alone. Do not test a dog's limits to see whether advice works.
No guaranteed outcome
Dogs and households differ. Learning and behaviour may change with health, genetics, environment, previous experience, handling, timing and consistency. No article, method, product, programme or tool can guarantee a particular result, timeframe, level of safety or permanent change.
Examples are illustrative. They are not promises that the same steps will be suitable or successful in another case. Stop an exercise if the dog, another animal or a person appears unsafe or significantly distressed.
Equipment, environments and physical activities
Equipment articles do not certify that a product is safe, correctly fitted or suitable for a particular dog. Follow current manufacturer instructions, inspect wear, supervise use and seek qualified fitting or veterinary advice where appropriate. Leads, long lines, harnesses, collars, crates, gates, toys, chews, cameras and barriers have limitations and can create hazards if selected or used incorrectly.
Outdoor and training activities involve variable conditions. Consider local laws, wildlife, traffic, weather, terrain, other people and animals and the handler's physical ability. A tool or successful practice session is not proof that off-lead activity or a more difficult environment is safe.
Children and vulnerable people
Adults remain responsible for supervising interactions between dogs and children or vulnerable people. A guide cannot assess the individual risk. Do not ask a child to carry out an exercise involving guarding, fear, aggression, a strong dog or any situation the child cannot safely control.
Programmes, products and third-party links
